Travel Guidelines
Practical notes for safer, smoother trips.
Use these guidelines before booking and before travelling, especially for hills, forests, adventure activities, pilgrimage routes, family trips, and long drives.
Documents to carry
- Government photo ID for every traveller.
- Passport, visa, permit, or special documents where required for border/state/forest areas.
- Booking confirmation, hotel details, emergency contact, and payment reference.
- Medical prescription, regular medicines, and basic health information for senior travellers or guests with health conditions.
Packing and weather
- Carry warm layers for hills even when plains are hot.
- Keep rain protection, comfortable shoes, personal medicine, power bank, torch, reusable bottle, and light snacks.
- For trekking or adventure trips, carry proper shoes, quick-dry clothing, personal first-aid, and only essential luggage.
Hotel and transport expectations
Hill, forest, village, and offbeat stays may be simpler than city hotels. Room view, hot water timing, mobile network, food options, and road access can vary. Vehicle timing depends on road, traffic, weather, permit, driver duty limits, and local rules.
Adventure and wildlife safety
- Choose trekking, rafting, climbing, safari, and other activities according to fitness, age, weather, and guide advice.
- Do not feed wildlife, play loud music in forest areas, litter, leave marked routes, or ignore guide instructions.
- Safari sightings are natural and never guaranteed.
Responsible travel
- Respect local people, customs, temples, monasteries, forests, rivers, and village rules.
- Avoid plastic waste and carry back personal litter where disposal is not available.
- Be patient with weather, road conditions, and remote-area limitations.
